Distinguishing features

The Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratories (ABL), the first research center for genetic engineering studies among all the universities in Taiwan, was founded in NCHU in 1984.
To meet the advances in today's biotechnology, Biotechnology Center (BTC) was reorganized from ABL in 2001.
To serve as a bridge of colleges of NCHU：new molecular techniques, train students and researchers, and provide the resources for biotech research.

1. In charge of Agricultural and Marine Biotechnology Education Resource Center of the Ministry of Education (MOE)
2. Execute 7 Top-Biotech teaching programs granted by MOE.
3. Promotion of 7 integrated biotechnology study programs.
4. Establishment of 24 teaching core laboratories.
